Democrats/Liberals Suffer from Poor Mental Health

Well, I actually knew this all along. There is now a study that has concluded that living in rural areas reduces stress, boosts health, and makes us less vulnerable to depression. In addition there is twice the incidence of schizophrenia among those brought up in cities.

Well that is all well and good I guess and the study tried to blame these finding on "pollution, toxins, crowding, or noise". I, however, have another theory. If you look at the redstate/bluestate maps broken down by counties it is obvious that most of the liberals/dimocrats live in the cities. It is simple to conclude from this that living in a city has nothing directly to do with your mental health. It simply points out what I have known all along: LIBERALS/DIMOCRATS ARE MENTALLY UNBALANCED!

How the hell could the people conducting this study have missed this conclusion?

Indeed, you will find many stable, well balanced, conservative individuals like sweet Wifey, sweet beagle Penny, and myself living in our peaceful little house on the hill at Lost Creek! I wouldn't have it any other way!

  1. My nearest neighbor is a 1/4 mile away. This has done wonders for MY mental health.

  2. Good morning Dr. Grouch,

I stumbled upon your Web site while doing a Google search for the term 'Dimocrat', which I was sure I had just invented. I got some 38,000 hits, including you, so I guess I'm not such a genius after all.

I landed on your article, "Democrats/ Liberals Suffer from Poor Mental Health", dated Thursday, June 23, 2011, after having recently thought about 'a benign environment', which is just what you described in your article. I see you're located near Cookeville, which ain't big, and which was described as a desirable 'micropedia' in a book I once had on relocation. Four years ago I escaped from Oakland, California, some three miles from the UC Berkeley campus, and moved to the vicinity of Miami, Florida. I thought I would be safe among anti-Castro Cubans, and so I was alarmed to see on your map that I had landed in another communist-infested blue area.

Now Wife One and I plan to move up to Wilmington, North Carolina, where we have God-fearing (I hope) kith and kin.
