Goober's Dead

I'm sad to report that George "Goober" Lindsey has died after a short illness. He was 83. Shows like the Andy Griffith Show and characters like Goober and places like Mayberry have become a thing of the past. That kind of innocent comedy can't be found anymore on TV. Many of those characters have already passed on, Barney Fife, Aunt Bee, Floyd the barber.....all gone. Andy Griffith and Jim Nabors are pretty old and probably won't be around much longer. Even Ron Howard is no spring chicken.

The passing of time is relentless as is the passage of a kinder, gentler, time of our lives.

  1. Sorry to hear it. We all have to go sometime and as these folks we grew up watching on TV pass on, it should make us think about our own lives. I don't know anything about George Lindsey personally. We did find out that Andy Griffith was/is either a useful idiot of the Left or a full-fledged liberal himself.

  2. I did not know that.
Wonder how many of the old Leave it to Beaver people are still around?

    1. I know Hugh Beaumont, Barbara Billingsly, and Richard Deacon are dead. I think the kids are still alive.
