Smearing Allen West

I intercepted this photo off the Facebook page of one of my good friends. I'll let you decide which one. Let's talk about Allen West for a minute. While commanding his men in Iraq, he fired his weapon near the head of a suspected insurgent. West had info that this insurgent was planning to ambush his men. LTC. West was not "kicked out" of the military. He was fined $5000 and retired with full benefits. He also said, "I know the method I used was not right, but I wanted to take care of my soldiers." and "If it's about the lives of my soldiers at stake, I'd go through hell with a gasoline can." So the whole premise of this picture is a lie and a distortion.

Now I ask you. If you were in the middle of a fire fight, would you want LTC. West leading you, or some maggot infested freak like the one the that originally posted this picture......hmmmmm?

As far as the other stuff, "Goebbels would be proud of the Democrats." "Democrats should leave the country." "Barack Hussein Obama is a low level socialist agitator." "Obama supporters are a threat to the gene pool." "There are 78-81 House Democrats in the Communist Party.".........

Yes INDEED! I agree! LTC. West is speaking the truth and we need to hear more of it! You go Allen West! I'll vote for you!

Of course I am sure my good Facebook friend never bothered to investigate the truth about Allen West.

Watcher’s Council Nominations – Earth Day Edition

Welcome to the Watcher’s Council, a blogging group consisting of some of the most incisive blogs in the ‘sphere, and the longest running group of its kind in existence. Every week, the members nominate two posts each, one written by themselves and one written by someone from outside the group for consideration by the whole Council. Then we vote on the best two posts, with the results appearing on Friday.
Holy Gaea! Another Earth Day has come and gone. This cartoon (merci pour le lagniappe, Gerard) makes the salient point that the entire global warming,Gaea worshiping nonsense is merely the Left’s version of the worst excesses of the Catholic Church in the Middle Ages – with the antics of Pope Gore and today’s scams like carbon trading and Solyndra in place of the sale of indulgences, benefices and paid for dispensations for the well heeled making it a perfect parallel.
Talk to any of these True Believers and disagree with what amounts to their religion and many of them would happily burn you at the stake as a heretic in a nanosecond if they weren’t worried about increasing their personal carbon footprints! Besides, it’s a lot more lucrative for them to simply tax you into oblivion and use the money for their much more deserving selves and their personal pet projects.
On another subject, this week’s contest is dedicated to Levon, who just made the passage. Rest in peace, dear soul.

A Pill for Every Problem

Some of my Facebook friends were lamenting the other day over a perception that “doctors and some people" think that a pill will fix anything. Well, this is at least partially true. I think some people, in fact, many people, think that there is a pill for anything that ails you. You find a lot of these folks rushing to the ER or spending week after week in a doctor’s office or convenient care clinic searching for a cure for the most trivial of complaints. Since most of these people also seem to think that someone else should pay for their healthcare, then the costs are multiplied exponentially, but that is another story.

I think most doctors realize that many things are not curable with a pill, in fact many things we see on a daily basis don’t even warrant a visit to the office. Nevertheless, we see the same old unnecessary stuff day after day. The problem with many of my colleagues is that they just can’t seem to say NO, and it’s easier to capitulate and prescribe a pill to every blithering hypochondriac that darkens the door rather than take the time to explain that certain “medical conditions” require no treatment. Since many of these hypochondriacs will visit multiple providers, they often collect a variety of unnecessary medicines. Sometimes these combos can turn out to be downright dangerous. And of course the hypochondriac will never seem to share previous practitioner visits with the current provider.

Many of my colleagues will over-prescribe simply to be liked by the patients and to keep them coming back happy. Allow me to relay a little story:

Little Johnny has a fever. Little Johnny’s mother RUSHES him immediately to the convenient care clinic. Of course she never bothers to give little Johnny any Tylenol or ibuprofen. The practitioner at the clinic diagnoses an “upper respiratory infection” and prescribes for little Johnny a somewhat expensive antibiotic. The practitioner had just been detailed about this new antibiotic by an oh so friendly pharmaceutical rep. Little Johnny’s mother is not worried since her insurance will pay for the antibiotic and she is just THRILLED to get this brand new high powered treatment. She just knows little Johnny will be all better by tomorrow.

Two days later, little Johnny is not doing any better so mom RUSHES little Johnny to the ER where the friendly Dr. GROUCH is on duty. Dr. GROUCH examines little Johnny, sees the expensive antibiotic he has been prescribed and tells mom that her child has a COLD which is caused by a VIRUS and that she can probably expect little Johnny to be sick several more days as the virus runs its course. Friendly Dr. GROUCH suggests mom make a trip to Walmart and stock up on Tylenol and an over the counter decongestant. This does not sit well with little Johnny’s mom, since she will have to pay for the Walmart items herself.

Two more days pass when finally little Johnny’s mom RUSHES him to his friendly family healthcare provider. The friendly family healthcare provider just can’t believe that the first practitioner would prescribe that antibiotic for this severe infection and is appalled that the evil Dr. GROUCH would do nothing for her son other than send her to Walmart. The family healthcare provider prescribes yet another expensive antibiotic and declares that if things do not improve soon, a visit to a specialist may be warranted!

Miraculously, by the very next day, little Johnny is much, much better! Little Johnny’s mother is convinced that the first provider just didn’t know what he was doing and that evil Dr. GROUCH was just an uncaring asshole.

Of course the truth here is that little Johnny had a virus and no matter what he was given, he was going to be sick until the virus was done. The friendly family practitioner came out smelling like a rose because he was able to slip in the miracle drug the day before little Johnny would have gotten better anyway.

And so we get a bit of a glimpse into why many doctors and other practitioners capitulate and prescribe pills just to appease the worried well. In the case above, Dr. GROUCH made the correct diagnosis and prescribed the proper treatment, and yet he was perceived as the uncaring asshole.

One of my favorite TV commercials showed a mother RUSHING her feverish child to the ER in the middle of the night. In the next scene, she is back home with the smiling child explaining to Papa that the hospital prescribed Tylenol! I’m sitting there thinking, “You’d think someone with half a brain could have figured this out without RUSHING to the ER.”

Back when I was a kid, my Momma didn’t take us to the doctor unless we were half dead and we NEVER rushed to the ER. Yet, 60 years later, I’m still alive and kicking. We’ve been programmed by the gubment, the media, the drug companies, nosy grandparents and neighbors, and many other sources, that we are absolutely helpless and we can’t do anything for ourselves. At the slightest sniffle many frantically rush to their weary healthcare providers demanding a quick, easy, and immediate fix! Money is no object since someone else will pay for it!

So we find ourselves in this vicious spiral of a pill for every problem and the cost of healthcare out of control. It is indeed mind boggling.

Watcher’s Council Nominations – Buh Bye Rick Edition

Well, the Republican primary is finally over, and Mitt Romney and the rest of the GOP can finally begin directing their energies, time and money where they belong – at defeating Barack Obama.
I pretty much said all I felt needed to be said about Rick Santorum’s exit yesterday. He’s essentially a Big Government progressive from the other end of the telescope. He frequently folded under pressure and would have been an easily defeatable candidate..not to mention an abysmal president even if he somehow managed to eke out a win. He simply wasn’t ready for prime time.
While Mitt Romney is not my ideal candidate ( she stayed home in Wasilla) I can definitely live with him and I think he has the makings of a good president, especially if he’s pushed rightwards by a conservative House and Senate. He was also the only candidate who actually ran with a fighting chance of winning.
It’s time to concentrate on exposing President Obama’s abysmal record and concentrate on victory not only the battle for the White House but in the battles for Congress. That’s gong to be a difficult climb, but it’s doable if we all work together for it. Anyone who takes his or her toys and goes home at this point is simply casting a vote for four more years of the most corrupt, dysfunctional and destructive President in the history of our Beloved Republic.

Riding for St. Jude

In spite of the tragic news yesterday, sweet Wifey and I had a large time participating in a motorcycle ride for St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. This was part of the larger Decatur County Coon Hunt, a yearly event and fundraiser for the hospital. We were blessed with fine weather and got to meet and talk with many fine folks. You can see all our pictures from the event HERE.

If you don't know about St. Jude, it is a research hospital in Memphis dedicated to caring for and hopefully curing children with all forms of cancer. All services are provided free of charge to the parents of the children. The hospital is funded by charitable donation. What a great cause!
Hot biker chicks could be found.
An old grouch was there too!

Tragedy Strikes Decatur County

Early yesterday morning, Decatur County fire chief, Kenny Fox, was killed in the line of duty when a roof collapsed on him. According to reports he pushed two other firemen out of the way moments before the tragedy, probably saving their lives. Two other firefighters were transported to Vanderbilt for treatment of third degree burns.

I knew Kenny personally. Words cannot express the grief and sense of loss felt by the whole community. Many prayers have gone up for Kenny and his family. During this Easter weekend this makes us even more thankful for God's gift and promise of eternal life.

Hybrid Cars will Reduce Tornadoes! Only an IDIOT DEMOCRAT Would Make Such a Connection!

Upset about recent tornadoes around Dallas Texas, Illinois senator, Dick Durbin DEMOCRAT has declared that we must introduce more laws regulating carbon output (Translated: Higher energy costs for you and your family and loss of jobs in the energy sector (Closing of coal fired power plants)).

He also says that we must convert to hybrid cars or lose our lives and that we must "spend money now to fix the problem" (Translated: We're going to take more of YOUR money, and waste it on more bullshit).

I can see Durbin's point though. Of course there have never been any tornadoes in Texas before. Can you remember any?

Sigh, is there ANYBODY out there reading this that REALLY believes that driving hybrid cars will reduce tornadoes? Anybody? Really?

I pray the Supreme Court strikes down the Obamacare mandate. If not, the next mandate will be electric cars for everyone, and bean sprouts and watercress sammiches for all your little kiddies. Think I'm kidding? Think again!

Read all about it HERE.

Facebook Danger at a Georgia Waffle House!

Shots were fired at a Waffle House in Augusta, GA, early this morning and wouldn't you know that two groups of women were involved?

Anyone want to guess the cause of the shooting? Well of course it evidently was over a Facebook post, specifically a "relationship status".

Now boys and girls, this Facebook stuff is real serious bidness doncha know, especially when it comes to the incredibly intelligent types involved in this incident. I would be willing to bet that these were groups of Obama supporters, but that is only a guess.

According to the story all shots were fired into the air and nobody was hurt. Only the shooter was arrested so far. Go HERE to read all about the trials and tribulations of these poor Obama supporters and all you Facebookers be real keerful out there!

According to late reports, Michelle Obama has heard of this and suggested that Barack levy a federal tax on Facebook or even ban it altogether.......for our own good of course.

Gentlemen, Protect Your Scrotum!

Here is a real painful story from Indiana. Evidently a 57 year old man was attacked by his 43 year old "on again, off again" girlfriend. After first instructing him to call the police, she began beating him about the head and then latched onto his scrotum with her fingernails and tried to rip the ballsack from his body.

She's pictured over at the left and I think all would agree she's a real babe! Now I do have a question. Since I have worn pants for the better part of my 60 years on earth, I gotta say that it seems to me it would be most difficult for someone to grab my scrotum with their fingernails. Was the dude sitting there nekkid with his jewels hanging out in the breeze or what? I gotta wonder.

In any case the guy was taken to BALL Memorial Hospital for treatment. Folks, I can't make this stuff up.

At the hospital he was treated for his injuries and evidently his important parts were still bleeding and so swollen that he was unable to walk or work. He may be "permanently" damaged, reports say. The story did not go into detail about what started this trouble other than he had broken off an 8 month relationship.

She was charged with aggravated assault, illegally entering the victim's home, and domestic battery. All I can say is that if the dude finally recovers, he's no doubt better off without her. Geez!

Go HERE to read the whole thing.

2 Reasons to Vote for Barack Obama

After you’ve read this there are really only two reasons that you would vote for our Dear Ruler in November:
1:  You’re a parasite, and you depend on the government’s ability to use its police power to take money from people who worked for and earned it, and give it to you in order to survive; or
2:  You make money off of the people identified in No. 1 above.
I’ve been telling you this for three plus years now.  Perhaps if you listened to the words of our spectacularly pitiful president.

I’ve been telling you for a while that Caesar Obammus believes that America’s greatness comes from government.  It really wasn’t hard to figure this out.  After all, just how much time has Obama spent praising freedom and economic liberty since he became president.  Think about it – Obama once referred to the private sector as “the enemy.”  How can we NOT be listening?

Read the rest HERE.

Kid Free Airline Flights? Yes!

Well, not really, it's an April Fools joke, but what a great idea!

Ah Pharaoh, let our people go! Lest the Lord smite thee with a mighty hand and ruin thy golf game for eternity!
The longer he’s in office, the longer this president continues to astound with his arrogance, dishonesty, and incompetence. His latest assault on the Supreme Court over a pending matter, something unheard of until now is just Barack Obama’s latest dive for the cellar.
However this being a time when some of us recall deliverance from Pharaoh, let’s not forget that it’s also a time of hope, that things can change for the better and that freedom is just around the corner waiting to be grasped.
This week’s contest is dedicated to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and in particular to one Judge Jerry Smith.

Kicking Back

Well, I have not posted much lately. No, I've been enjoying the beautiful spring weather. Wifey and I have been riding the motorcycle. We have covered many miles in the past couple of weeks. I've also spent time working on the dreaded April tax. Leave it to the gubment to ruin one of the most beautiful months of the year.

The political news has gone stale as the media and Republican establishment are sealing the deal for Romney. We are so screwed. I just don't feel like talking or blogging about it.

I'm going fishing in a little bit with one of my Facebook friends. He's a Democrat. That should be fun.

Anyway, I'm just kicked back and enjoying life at Lost Creek. I'll get back to serious blogging when the urge strikes me.

RINO REMINDER

Senator Lamar Alexander is the traitorous senator from Tennessee who voted to confirm the racist judge, Sonya Sotomayor. Never again will I vote for Lamar Alexander. He is not up for re-election until 2014, but I intend to post this reminder each and every month until then. I hope he either resigns or they run a true conservative against him in the primary. I challenge my fellow bloggers to do the same if you have RINO's in your state that need to go. I may add my other senator, Bob Corker, to this reminder. I'm waiting for him to cross the aisle again and work with Dimocrats.

It is with sadness that I have added my congresswoman, Marsha Blackburn to the RINO Reminder list. She voted for the BOEHNER bill and has voted to raise the debt ceiling, thereby COMPROMISING and selling us out to the Dimocrats and the establishment Republicans. I have let congresswoman Blackburn know that I am looking forward to voting for a primary challenger against her in 2012. I hope there is one.
