Obama was Born in Kenya! Get Over it!

Well, my old friend, Donald Trump is back on the birther bandwagon again and as usual the lame stream media is beside itself. They are trying to get Mitt Romney to latch on to the idea along with Trump so they can lampoon him and make him look like a fool. Romney is probably smart to steer clear of this. Nobody in the lame stream will ever consider that Obama was actually born in Kenya and they will use the issue as a weapon against Romney if given an opportunity.

The old GROUCH is a proud birther. I believe Obama was born in Kenya and therefore an illegitimate president. I also believe he's a Muslim or at least a Muslim sympathizer and therefore an enemy of the United States. Yeah, I believe that so called birth certificate of Obama's is a fake as a 3 dollar bill.

My position as a birther apparently enrages many of the looney Facebook liberals. They hurl insults at me, squall, whine, and ring their hands in anger at such a suggestion that Obama was born in Kenya. Frankly I find their anger rather amusing and a bit odd. Why should they care what I think about this? I am nothing but a private citizen, a blogger, a Facebook insulter. I am not a newsperson or a politician. I can't pass any laws, raise anyone's taxes, or send their sons and daughters off to war. And yet they are so angry.......ENRAGED in fact!

I think deep down in their little bleeding liberal hearts, most of them realize that there is a possibility that Donald Trump and I might just be correct. They have to know that the lame stream media gave Obama a pass and refused to investigate his beginnings back in 2008. What has come out such as his ties with terrorists and communists has been largely ignored as was his association with the racist, Jeremiah Wright. I am sure the little looney Facebook liberals have to wonder what else may be hiding under there.

And so, I keep bringing it up again and again. Obama was born in Kenya. Who is listening? Who is paying attention? When will the whole truth finally come out? If the Grouch at Right Truth and Donald Trump and others would just leave this alone, people would finally forget and the whole thing would fade into obscurity.

That damned Grouch, he just keeps talking about it. How embarrassing it will be one day when the truth about the communist Kenyan is finally revealed. They will all have been fooled and there will be nowhere to hide from their shame. No wonder they are so angry!

Facebook Medicine is Bad Medicine

Most of you who read the blog know I am a physician, specifically an ER physician. It seems lately on Facebook I get more and more requests for medical opinions and advice. Lately I have been asked to interpret someone's Xray results, adjust someone else's blood pressure medicine and diagnose a rash on a child.

Of course I have never seen any of these people and never had a professional relationship with any of them. I know nothing of their previous history and yet I am asked to advise them on Facebook of all places. I routinely decline to advise these people.

My malpractice insurance premium costs between $20,000 and $25,000 per year. The ER company I contract with actually pays my premium but in the end you can bet I end up paying for at least most of it. My policy covers me for legal actions that may occur against me during my duties as an ER physician. I am not covered for any occurrences outside the ER. This would include Facebook consults.

A layperson can give advice to another without fear of legal involvement. However, if I give medical advice to another, from that point I have developed a doctor-patient relationship and I am medically and legally responsible for any advice I may give. If something goes wrong or I give bad advice perhaps because I did not have all the facts, I can be sued. These types of suits happen all the time. Many of the suits are nothing but nonsense. Nevertheless it takes time and money to defend even the most trivial of these. Sadly, settling a suit is sometimes more economical than continuing to fight it, even if the defendant has done nothing wrong. We so badly need a LOSER PAYS system in the United States.

So when I decline to answer your Facebook medical questions, I hope you'll understand. And besides that, whatever happened to calling your friendly family doctor (who knows your case and your history) for all your medical needs?

Liberal Ignorance Causes Confusion

Yesterday, I had an enraged, blithering idiot of a liberal argue to me that the above picture WAS NOT PHOTOSHOPPED. I kept asking her how it was that Ike was a contemporary of present day Republicans. As usual when arguing with liberals, you never collect a coherent answer. And then it finally dawned on me, SHE DIDN'T KNOW WHO THE OTHER PEOPLE IN THE PICTURE WERE!

I guess she thought they were just some politicians hanging around with Eisenhower in the 1950's. Then I really laughed out loud because she had just told me she was loaded with facts and intelligence.

Anyway, she was really mad and unhinged by the time I got through with her. I do love it so!

Just a Few Thoughts on Global Warming

Last night I retrieved the following picture from my favorite weather website. Please study it carefully.
This map represents a tropical disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico. I want you to pay attention to all the projected paths (lines) on the map. Don't you feel reassured that these weather experts are so certain about where this thing might go?

Now realize that some of the same people that generate predictions like this are also the ones telling us that global warming is real and manmade and it's going to kill us and destroy the planet. They want to give us cap and trade, more gubment control over our lives, less freedom and liberty, higher energy costs, no more fossil fuels, electric cars for all, and a giant sing-a-long of Kum Ba Ya.

They make a convincing argument, doncha think? Just sayin'.

Repealing Obamacare

My good friend, Doug M. Cotner, is always putting up nonsensical pictures like the one to the left on his Facebook page. Yes, I remember the huge piles of stinking dead bodies in the streets before Obamacare was passed. Suddenly all those dead bodies vanished when the messiah signed the bill into law.

Of course if the Supreme Court declares Obamacare unconstitutional or if it eventually gets repealed we will once again see piles of dead bodies in the streets, at least I guess that is what Doug and is friends think, or at least that is what they have been told by the Dimocrats.

Hmmmm, the only thing I can see Obamacare has done for me is raise the price of my health insurance premium about 30 percent. Well of course it did. When you allow 26 year old kids to remain on Mom and Dad's health insurance and when you force insurance companies to write policies for people with pre-existing illnesses, the cost is going to rise.....duh!

I have been sick with bronchitis for about a week. I finally went to the doctor today, got a couple of shots, a couple of prescriptions, and maybe I already feel better. They'll send me a bill. I'll pay it. Whether Obamacare existed or not is irrelevant. Nothing would have been a bit different for me. In fact I think I have about the best health care plan around:

1. I work.
2. I expect nobody but me, myself and I to pay for my care.
3. I figure health care to be a natural part of my budget.

Did you notice my health insurance (or lack of it) played no part in the above scenario? I didn't run around wringing my hands refusing to go to the doctor because I have not yet met the deductible of my HDHP. No, I went anyway. I have known some people who would refuse to see the doctor because they are below their deductible and might actually have to pay something. Or worse, they RUSH to the ER and hope to get treated for "free".

I think the fact that I work is probably the most important piece of the puzzle. Working for what you have makes a damn big difference.

Oh, one of Doug's pinhead friends also commented the Romney would also do away with Medicare. Of course these people never tell us how that is liable to happen. They also fail to mention that Obama stole $500 billion from Medicare to fund Obamacare. Ho hum.

2012 Dayton Hamvention

Well, the Grouch attended the 2012 Dayton Hamvention last weekend. I think the gang and I had the best time ever. I rode the motorcycle a total of 948 miles in the dry. Our stay at the Drury Inn was also mighty fine. The Drury was a little more expensive but it was well worth the difference. We'll be back at the Drury next year.
As usual we visited our favorite Hooters on Miller Lane where we were waited on hand a foot by many smiling young ladies.
In fact we even invited Hooter girl, Ashley to visit us at the hamfest, and she did! She says she's going to school to be an RN one day.
Last Thursday we spent most of the day at the Dayton Air Museum which is always the best free entertainment you can find.
And of course all of us old farts spent the rest of the weekend at the hamfest.
And when it's all said and done, it is good to finally head for home!
Homeward bound!
For all the hamfest pictures, check out my link at FLICKR. We'll be back next year.

Fairness

I intercepted this from my good friend, Doug M Cotner's Facebook page. I agree totally with the idea of fairness. The Grouch's definition of fairness is:

1. Students should be equally and fairly allowed to attended schools, study and take tests. Some will make A's, B's, and C's. Others will fail. Those who fail will have to try again. Those who fail should not be passed on just so they won't get their feelings hurt.

2. Children should be equally and fairly allowed to play sports and activities. There will be winners and losers. Those who lose should not be patted on the head and given trophies. Who wants a trophy for sucking?

3. Investors, without "help" or interference from the gubment, should be fairly allowed to invest their money in stocks, bonds, mutual funds, real estate, gold, or whatever private venture the choose. Some will make a fortune. Some will do OK. Others will lose their ass.

4. Individuals, without "help" or interference from the gubment, should fairly be allowed to utilize, their time, talents, money, and ingenuity to create goods, services, build businesses, create jobs, hire employees, fire employees, and offer investment opportunities for others. Some will be successful and their investors and employees will reap the benefits. Others will fail and possibly lose their asses along with the investors and the employees.

This my friends is the definition of fairness in a capitalist society. Barack Obama does not believe in fairness. He would rather confiscate wealth from those who work and take the risks and distribute the spoils to those who sit around whining and complaining.

Which version of fairness do you prefer, Grouch's version, or Obama's version?

I would have posted this directly on Doug's page but he would have likely erased it. Doug does not believe in free speech, especially when he hears opposing views or when anyone is opposed to his beloved messiah Obama.

By the way, it is laughable to think Obama has a "truthteam".....bwaaa haa haa.

Whatever Happens in November, the GROUCH will be a Winner!

Yes, indeed, I have taken some heat from several of my friends since I have declared that I will sit out the election in November. I will not vote for the RINO, Mitt Romney. Even my sister who evidenlty is a big Romney supporter thinks I'm crazy. Well, I may be crazy but that is neither here nor there.

As I see it, there are 3 possible scenarios:

1. I figure Mitt Romney will carry Tennessee anyway, no matter what I do. I also figure that Romney will lose the general election to Obama. I know right now Romney is leading in most polls, but as soon as the Obama smear campaign gets going full swing and the Democrats begin cultivating all the ignorant morons that voted for Obama the first time, it will be over for Romney. Romneycare will be hanging around the neck of the Massachusetts governor like a stone. When Romney loses, I can say once again, "You should have given us an exciting conservative candidate." The country loses, the GROUCH wins.

2. Things might be even worse. Obama might win Tennessee and beat Romney in a landslide, Yes, things might be so bad that most of the Republicans stay home. Once again I can say, "Wudda, shudda, cudda!" The country loses, the GROUCH wins.

3. Romney actually wins the general election. Everyone except me is overjoyed. During his first term when he starts acting like a RINO, does nothing substantive to cut the debt and deficit, compromises with Democrats to get things done, finds BIG GOVERNMENT SOLUTIONS to our so called problems, grants amnesty to illegal aliens......I could go on. Once again, I can say, "You should have given us an exciting conservative candidate." The country loses, and the GROUCH wins.

So don't blame me for any of this. We had several chances to nominate a true conservative candidate.

Watcher’s Council Nominations – The Election Cometh Edition

Welcome to the Watcher’s Council, a blogging group consisting of some of the most incisive blogs in the ‘sphere, and the longest running group of its kind in existence. Every week, the members nominate two posts each, one written by themselves and one written by someone from outside the group for consideration by the whole Council. Then we vote on the best two posts, with the results appearing on Friday.
Historically, this is the time, between mid May and Memorial Day, when most Americans begin to perk up their eyes and ears, do a gut check and start to focus on presidential elections.
It’s early days, but I don’t think it’s any accident that a CBS/NY Times poll, no less, shows Mitt Romney slightly ahead of President Obama and ahead among women, a sign that the Democrat’s ‘War against Women’ campaign may have fallen flat.Considering how much polls from the alphabet network and the dinosaur media routinely oversample Democrats, this is an encouraging sign. Especially since Scott Rasmussen, a far more reliable pollster shows a similar result.
Again, the margin’s narrow, it’s very early days and this could very well be a temporary reaction to President Obama’s cynical endorsement of same sex marriage. Or it could be that Governor Romney is starting to pull ahead.Certainly confidence in the Obama economy remains low, and that still appears as though it’s going to be the main issue in this election.
Keep in mind that the polls in question might very well have been rigged the other way for an important reason – to scare and energize President Obama’s base with the idea he might not be re-elected.
We’ll see how things develop.

Donald "Duck" Dunn is Dead at Age 70

I must sadly report that Donald "Duck" Dunn is dead at age 70. That might not mean much to most of you, but as a bass guitar player, he was one of the greats, an icon in fact. I guess he is best known as the bassist for the group, Booker T. and the MG's. Remember them? "Green Onions", "Hang'em High", "Hip Hug Her".......yeah, now you remember.

I like to think of Dunn as an influence of mine. I remember spending hours listening to his rifts and attempting to mimic his style. So sorry to see him go.

The GROUCH Discusses Gay Marriage

A Facebook friend of mine, Jack, put the following post on his Facebook page. Rather than comment there, I decided to steal his post and make a new post for the Grouch. Here is Jack’s original post:

I've got to ask...
To those of you who so staunchly oppose the idea of gays being allowed to enter into a binding, government recognized, contractual union that would grant them the same rights and protections of survivorship, communal property, and tax and insurance advantages shared by heterosexuals in the same contractual union.
Why or how does it really affect your life?

My response:

Well, Jack, let’s look at it this way. Suppose John Jones is an active young man. John has 4 girlfriends and they all shack up together in the same house, sharing the food, the chores, the rent, and all having consensual sex together (I’ll leave it up to you to decide who’s doing whom). Is there a law against this? Does anybody care? I could care less.

Suppose one day, John decides he wants to MARRY all 4 of the girls! Oh, no, can’t do that! Polygamy is against the law. But wait, Jack, why should we be staunchly opposed to these people being allowed to enter into a binding, government recognized, contractual union that would grant them the same rights and protections of survivorship, communal property, and tax and insurance advantages shared by monogamous individuals in the same contractual union?
Why or how does it really affect your life?

Actually there is no difference between gay marriage and polygamy from a purely libertarian point of view and yet we don’t seem to hear anyone championing the idea of polygamy.

The fact of the matter is that the United States was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. The heathens and atheists out there may not like that very much but that does not change the fact. At least in the beginning our laws were based on these principles and over the years society has determined which laws and morals we should live by.

I happen to believe that the Bible is clear that homosexuality is an abomination in the sight of God. Does this mean that I am going to go around throwing Molotov cocktails into the homes of homosexuals? No, not at all. On the contrary, I could care less what gay people do as long as they don’t force me to celebrate their gayness with them, force their gay beliefs on my children, or force me to attend their gay pride parades. Any judgments passed upon these folks will be done by Almighty God. It’s not up to me and I’m glad.

I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. I am comfortable with that belief. It is what the Bible teaches. It is what society has decided as the standard since the founding of the country. If I suddenly declared that gay marriage, polygamy, marrying my favorite goat, or any other type of union was legal, then I would be forsaking the teaching of the Bible and what I believe to be morally true, and furthermore I would be taking a minority position against the majority will of the people in the country.

Even Barack Obama swerves into the truth once in a while. He did when he declared the issue of gay marriage should be left up to the states. He said this just to try and cover his butt politically, but he is correct. The majority of states have already affirmed that marriage is a union between a man and a woman. As far as I am concerned the majority has spoken.

I figure the day will come when the minority attempts to force it’s will upon the majority through the Supreme Court, take the power away from the states, and make the minority opinion the law of the land as they did with Roe vs. Wade……another issue which should have been left up to the states.

Comments welcome.

A Dying Breed

The other day while working, I went in the exam room to see an old gentleman. He was wearing a cap that said, "WW2 Veteran". I asked him immediately about his service. His 90 year old body was old, tired and sick, but his mind was sharp and his eyes brightened when he told me of his time in the U.S. Navy in the great war. I could tell he was thrilled that I thought enough to ask.

He explained that he was a sailor and was assigned to a DE (Destroyer Escort). These were small ships which were assigned to protect convoys of mainly merchant ships as they traversed submarine infested waters in route to our allies in need of food, medicine, war materials, and other crucial supplies.

He also let me know that he saw action in both the Atlantic and Pacific and was especially proud of the fact that his ship was instrumental in the sinking of a German U-boat just off the New England coast.

I thanked him for his service and he was proud to have served with distinction as he should have been. They are a dying breed and pretty soon all of the World War 2 vets will be gone. We owe them so much. It doesn't take but just a few moments to thank these folks for their service and listen to their story if they have one to tell. We were both smiling that evening.

The above is a photo of Harvard professor, self-styled ‘consumer activist’ and Massachusetts Democrat Senate Candidate Elizabeth Warren in her secret minority Identity as Chief Spreading Bull.True to form, she’s dressed in the war bonnet of a Lakota rather than the tribe she *cough* claims to belong to, but then that’s part of the fun.
By now, most of you know that Princess Dances-With-Marxism has claimed to be a Native American throughout her career, taking advantage of ‘diversity’ to get affirmative action bennies at the University of Houston, Rutgers, and of course, Harvard University where she was eagerly hired as a professor..(‘Quick,let’s hire her…we don’t have one of those.’)
Oddly enough, no one ever asked Warren for proof until recently, and the best that our friend Minni-blah-blah was able to provide was an 1884 genealogical document that might prove that her great, great great grandmother was Cherokee. As the genealogist who found it said ‘This needs more research’.
If this document is accurate, that would make Elizabeth Warren all of 1/32nd Cherokee Indian. Based on that criteria, President Obama is an Arab Muslim and I’m the lost heir to the throne of Lithuania.
Odd that many Democrats are seem unwilling to disavow racial ‘classifications’ that have more than an aroma of the Nazi’s old Racial Purity Laws. But then, oddly enough, President Obama’s new campaign slogan has a odor redolent of the same place and time. Just a coincidence, I’m sure.

The End of France

You know, I pretty much don't give a hoot in hell about France one way or another but I have a few comments on their election of socialist president, François Hollande.

He made a couple of interesting comments such as, "I am proud to have been capable of giving people hope again". Hmmm, where have we heard that before?

Also he says, "Austerity can no longer be inevitable!", which translates that he's just going to keep spending money that he doesn't have and not worry about paying the bills. Oh, but he's going to raise the marginal tax rate on those making over a million bucks to 75 percent I guess to try to pay for all his new ideas. Anyone with half a brain knows that you cannot tax your way out of a debt mess when spending is the problem.

He's going to drop the retirement age from 62 to 60 for those working 41 years or more. He's going to hire more people to boost France's state education system, and he's going to give foreigners the right to vote in local elections. Sweet Wifey believes this will lead to a Muslim takeover of France. She's probably right. Texas Fred has some interesting thoughts on the matter as well.

You gotta admit that things have been on a downhill slide for France ever since Napoleon Bonaparte and it looks like the slide is going to continue. Barack Obama must be salivating over Hollande's good fortune.

Goober's Dead

I'm sad to report that George "Goober" Lindsey has died after a short illness. He was 83. Shows like the Andy Griffith Show and characters like Goober and places like Mayberry have become a thing of the past. That kind of innocent comedy can't be found anymore on TV. Many of those characters have already passed on, Barney Fife, Aunt Bee, Floyd the barber.....all gone. Andy Griffith and Jim Nabors are pretty old and probably won't be around much longer. Even Ron Howard is no spring chicken.

The passing of time is relentless as is the passage of a kinder, gentler, time of our lives.

Don't Call Me if You're from the RNC

Just about everyday we get a call from the RNC, begging for money. Up until yesterday, we have just ignored them or sweet Wifey has just given them one of her sweet "no thank you"'s.

Yesterday, I picked up the phone, on purpose. The caller told me how we could all agree on the importance of defeating Barack Obama in 2012 and wanted to know if I would pledge at least $50 toward the cause.

I just hate it when someone tells me what I can agree to.

I let him know that he could not count on my pledge. I let him know that I would never send the RNC any money. I let him know that I would never vote for Mitt Romney and that Romney was no better than Obama. I also told him to remove my name from their call list and to never bother me again.

I contributed to the campaign of Herman Cain, a conservative. He is gone. I contributed to the campaign of Rick Santorum, a conservative. He is gone. The pundits at Fox News and the Republican establishment have been in the tank for Romney from the get-go and they have gleefully handed me once again their favorite RINO.

Never again. John McCain was my FINAL RINO. I will not vote for Mitt Romney. Who knows what we would get with Mitt? He has taken just about every position on every issue possible. I am of the opinion he's no better than what we have now.

One of my friend, Fred's Facebook friends called me insane and a "self centered jerk". I let her know she was nothing more than a "blind, naive, ignorant ass". Hey, she started it! But it is true. The RINO supporters are just too blind to see that if we keep on compromising our conservative principles we are doomed to fail. No, it's not my fault if Obama wins in November. It is the fault of the Republican masses who failed to educate themselves on the dangers of RINOism and mediocrity. It is their fault for failing to insist on a conservative candidate. I expect that Romney will be a loser anyway, so the whole point is moot.

So if you wanna vote for Mitt in November, be my guest. If it is a warm day, I'll be out fishing.

Biker Clocked Going 170 MPH

No, that is not the 170 MPH speed demon in the picture. You gotta wonder what is going through someone's mind if they get out on the interstate and truck along at 170, but that is exactly what happened in upstate New York.

Sweet Wifey and I travel down the interstate sometimes at a normal speed of 70 to 75 and let me tell you that is plenty fast enough. I just don't get the idea of risking life and limb doing anything more. Oh well it takes all kinds I guess but I don't imagine there would have been much left of that rider if he had lost control.

Ah, the OWS movement..back again like a rancid smell you thought you’d gotten rid of in spring cleaning. Together with pals from the SEIU and other radical groups, they used the old Communist holiday of May Day to exercise their usual tyranny over other people’s rights to travel, work, buy and sell.
There was an old saying..I believe it came from Ben Franklin – that one person’s rights ended at the next man’s nose. Sadly, a lot of people seem to have forgotten that, with the result that everyone’s miserable.
However, after thinking about it, I came up with a solution that ought to make everybody as happy as rats in a cheese factory. It’s amazing what you can accomplish by simply giving people what they want.

RINO REMINDER

Senator Lamar Alexander is the traitorous senator from Tennessee who voted to confirm the racist judge, Sonya Sotomayor. Never again will I vote for Lamar Alexander. He is not up for re-election until 2014, but I intend to post this reminder each and every month until then. I hope he either resigns or they run a true conservative against him in the primary. I challenge my fellow bloggers to do the same if you have RINO's in your state that need to go. I may add my other senator, Bob Corker, to this reminder. I'm waiting for him to cross the aisle again and work with Dimocrats.

It is with sadness that I have added my congresswoman, Marsha Blackburn to the RINO Reminder list. She voted for the BOEHNER bill and has voted to raise the debt ceiling, thereby COMPROMISING and selling us out to the Dimocrats and the establishment Republicans. I have let congresswoman Blackburn know that I am looking forward to voting for a primary challenger against her in 2012. I hope there is one.
