Halloween is Coming

The kid will need counseling when he grows up.

One More Reason to get out of the UN

Anyone with half a brain should know that the UN is made up of mostly a bunch of countries run mostly by tin-pot dictators that hate the US.

The latest story comes the Washington Free Beacon who reports that the UN Human Rights Council wants to boycott US companies that do business with Israel. Just realize that the Human Rights Council is made up mostly of Islamic countries. You gotta laugh when you put Islamic and human rights in the same sentence.

You know I really didn't care much for the final presidential debate the other night. Both candidates said the US would "stand with Israel". What exactly does that mean?

I so wish that Mitt Romney had grown a pair and declared that any attack on Israel by anyone would be equated with an attack on the United States. He should have gone on to say that the time has come to get the United States out of the UN and get the UN out of New York. He could have gone on to say that we are going to stop importing oil from the Arabs and start using our own. Let the Arabs eat sand!

I for one would have cheered, but we gotta remember, Romney is our candidate.

Watcher’s Council Nominations – Horses And Bayonets Edition

To send President Obama’s snide little comment from last night’s debate right back at him, he needs to find out how our military actually works. He could start by talking to a Marine or a soldier who’s had his or her life saved because he or she knew how to put their bayonet training to use.
Or to the men of the 10th Mountain, some of whom I’m honored to be acquainted with, who participated in an amazing but undereported endeavor known as Operation Mountain Thrust. It involved them landing by helicopter on the side of a mountain to outflank the Taliban, a position the jihadis thought was inaccessible. Horses and donkeys were used to cart supplies in on a daily basis.
Welcome to the Watcher’s Council, a blogging group consisting of some of the most incisive blogs in the ‘sphere, and the longest running group of its kind in existence. Reasons to Vote Democrat

1. I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.

2. I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

3. I voted Democrat because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

4. I voted Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.

5. I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.

6. I voted Democrat because I'm not concerned about millions of babies being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

7. I voted Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits.

8. I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit.

9. I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

10. I voted Democrat because I think that it's better to pay billions to people who hate us for their oil, but not drill our own because it might upset some endangered beetle or gopher.

11. I voted Democrat because while we live in the greatest, most wonderful country in the world , I was promised "HOPE AND CHANGE AND A STRONG ECONOMY WITH LOW UNEMPLOYMENT".

12. I voted Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my A__, it's unlikely that I'll ever have another point of view.

Thoughts About George McGovern

Well, the flaming liberal senator from South Dakota, George McGovern passed away last week. I had not thought much about McGovern since he lost the 1972 presidential election to Nixon 520 to 17 electoral votes.

Nixon was my first vote for president. The main reason I liked Nixon was that he was making strides toward getting us out of Vietnam. Had it not been for a lottery number of 326, I could have been drafted and ended up in that awful place.

I had not thought of this until now, but McGovern was the first looney liberal I voted against. I don't really remember a lot of the specifics of McGovern. I was young then and had a lot of other stuff on my mind, but I do remember that I did not buy most of the balderdash he was spewing.

I would be remiss if I did not mention that McGovern was a war hero. He piloted a B-24 on 35 missions over Nazi held Europe and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. For his service and heroism, I honor him and humbly thank him. This fully indicates though that military service does not necessarily qualify someone for the presidency, nor does the lack of it disqualify a candidate.

In any case, George, I hope you find peace in the afterlife.

A Good Laugh for the Day

Remember Sandra Fluke, the little liberal bimbo who got upset cause hard working people like me did not want to pay for her birth control? Well she made a campaign stop in Reno to the roar and cheers of a rowdy crowd of...........10 people! Sometimes you just gotta laugh. And the Republican's war against women rages on.
Sandra Fluke, what a babe!

So Long Grandma, Obama Closed your Hospital

It's coming! Get ready!

Hospitals - Good Quality or just Good Surveys? You Decide!

Did you know that Medicare pays hospitals based on the “quality of care” provided by the hospital? They withhold payment to hospitals that don’t “measure up”.

Did you know that Medicare uses patient surveys to determine the quality of care provided by the hospital?

Did you know that most lay people don’t really understand many of the questions asked on these surveys as they relate to quality? Many of the surveys are also completed by family members because the patient is unable to do so.

Did you know that Medicare grades hospitals on a comparison curve and that a hospital with raw scores in the low to mid 90’s will still be penalized? Only hospitals near the 100th percentile will not be penalized. I’m told this amounts to about 3 percent of hospitals.

Did you know that Medicare requires hospitals to do these surveys at the hospital’s expense thereby raising the cost of providing healthcare?

Did you know that most hospitals, especially large ones, employ several people who’s sole purpose is to make sure the hospital receives good survey scores? This raises the cost of providing healthcare.

Did you know that most small hospitals in rural and disadvantaged areas cannot collect enough surveys to make the results statistically significant? Nevertheless, unreliable results are used by Medicare to determine payment or lack thereof.

Did you after reading the above, suspect that none of this nonsense has anything to do with quality of care but rather who is able to produce the best survey results?

Did you conclude after reading all of this that Medicare is not really interested in quality but rather is just looking for more excuses not to pay for healthcare provided for seniors?

ADDENDUM:
I forgot to ask if you knew how much tax money was wasted by Medicare trying to implement this catastrophe.  I'd like to know.

Abortion is Criminal Murder, What Say You?

You know I am pretty much libertarian about most things. Indeed the gubment has no business sticking its nose in my business. I should be able to do pretty much anything I want to do as long as it does not infringe on the rights and liberties of another human being.

This is where I part company with most libertarians on the subject of abortion. While I believe choice is a good thing in most of life’s endeavors, I draw the line at choosing to end the life of an innocent child. I believe life begins at conception. I can’t prove this to anyone. On the other hand my belief cannot be disproven. Just because some heathen judge says life starts at the second trimester does not make it so. The Bible alludes to the fact that God already knows the souls of the unborn even before conception. Of course many don’t believe in the Bible or only accept parts of it that suit their agenda. I support your right to choose not to believe.

Lately I have had discussions with people claiming to be conservatives who say they do not believe in abortion but go on to say they think, “it is an individual thing”.

Really? It’s an individual thing? I think not. In fact I declare that abortion of the unborn at any stage is a criminal act. To say it is an individual thing in effect asserts that the life of the unborn child, although a living being with a soul, is of lesser value than that of a post partum human being. I had a face-to-face discussion the other day with a woman who held on to the “individual thing” view. I asked her if it would be also an individual thing or acceptable choice for me to shoot my neighbor in the head for playing his music too loudly.

Of course she said it was not the same thing, but I went on to suggest that she was saying the life of the unborn child was not as important as the life of my neighbor, if I could choose to end the life of one but not the other. At this point she developed a puzzled stare and the conversation ended. She realized she had been painted into a corner.
She departed with her puzzled stare and something new to think about.

Life is life and murder is murder. Every individual has a right to life. You can’t really pick and choose. For this reason I believe abortion is indeed a criminal act.

Having said that let me also say that abortion laws should be left up to the individual states and not decided by unelected federal judges. If a state chooses to legalize abortion, they will have to explain their actions one day in front of the Almighty.

I think most subscribe to the watered down abortion stance because they have family and friends who have had abortions. They don't want to appear judgmental. Hey, that's fine with me. I don't portend to judge them either. It is not up to me.

Many will be in for a shock when they stand before God and look at the faces of the unborn souls that because of their actions never were given the right to live. The good news here is that abortion, like any sin, can be forgiven.

Oh, I know most of the liberals will laugh at this notion. They after all don’t believe in a living God and a final judgment. Of course whether they believe or not will not change the temperature of hell one degree.

Death Panels are HERE

Today while working my shift in the emergency room, an old lady was brought in very sick and in fact near death. I did my usual workup and evaluation and attempted to administer life saving treatment. It was my plan to admit this woman to the hospital. I found out a little later that this same woman had been a patient here just slightly more than 2 weeks ago with a DIFFERENT DIAGNOSIS. I was told that if this woman was admitted, the hospital would not be paid.

The new Medicare rule now is that if the same Medicare patient is re-admitted to the hospital within 30 days, the hospital will not be paid. When they first started this nonsense they said this only applied to patients with the same diagnosis. Now they have "expanded" the rule to include re-admissions for any reason. So if you're in the hospital for pneumonia, and 3 weeks later, you break your leg.......too bad. Medicare will not pay the hospital to fix your leg.

A little later a man was brought in by ambulance, very sick, in pain, and near death. I did my usual evaluation and treatment, doing my best to ease pain and stabilize this man's illness. He needed to be admitted. To my chagrin I found out that he had been treated for the SAME problem at a DIFFERENT HOSPITAL about 10 days prior. If I admitted this man, our hospital would be paid nothing. I admitted the man.

My friends I am caught in a terrible position. I could have given treatment to both of these people and sent them out. There is no doubt that both of them would have died. Oh, I could also be sued for malpractice, but nobody cares about that. That's why we have insurance, right?

My other choice is to admit the person, knowing full well that the hospital will have to absorb the cost of care without hope of remuneration.

This is the climate we as healthcare providers find ourselves in today. How many small and struggling hospitals will survive under such ludicrous payment schemes? Indeed many facilities will close their doors. Many doctors will retire early or simply go do something else. As more and more are added to the Obamacare rolls, there will be less and less access. People will get sicker and yes, people will die because of it.

I had a sick and sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach today after both of these incidents. We have a good hospital. Our nurses, technicians, and support staff work very hard and they deserve to be paid for their efforts. I am not so worried about myself as I am near retirement, but I worry for all the younger folks in the healthcare business and I worry about our seniors who are in the long run going to be sacrificed as the government implements cost cutting shenanigans to cover up their broken promise made way back in 1964.

Folks, this is a nightmare!

Mr. Hamilton Died 4 Days Ago

Got a call a few minutes ago:

CALLER: May I speak to Mr. Hamilton?

ME: Who's calling?

CALLER: The Mitt Romney campaign.

ME: This is Mr. Hamilton's brother. Mr. Hamilton passed away 4 days ago.

CALLER: Oh, well I'm very sorry. Have you decided who you're supporting in November?

ME: Well, I have not really been thinking about it very much.

CALLER: Well, this call is paid for by the Mitt Romney campaign and I hope you'll keep us in mind in the near future....blah......blah......blah......

I was surprised he did not ax me for a donation. How's that for some heartfelt condolences?

Homework Banned in Public Skools!

There is a blithering communist idiot in charge of France named François Hollande. I just read that this guy wants to ban homework in the schools. Well now I betcha all your little moochers at home would be thrilled to hear about this, but you want to guess the reason for Hollande's lunacy?

He says it is UNFAIR that some of the kids don't have parents that will help them with homework while other kids do! Boys and girls, I can't make this stuff up. Yes, my friends, in the name of fairness, we're going to ban homework in the schools and make sure all the kids are equally ignorant.

At the same time, investors are fleeing France and taking their money elsewhere because of rocketing tax rates. France's business federation has predicted a "grave economic crisis".

I can't feel too sorry for the French, after all, they voted for this guy. If you're going to be this stupid, you deserve what you get.

The only reason I mention this is because our glorious incumbent messiah believes in "fairness" He wants to raise tax rates on those making over $250K per year, not because the extra revenue will solve our debt issues, but rather because those rich bastards need to pay "their fair share" Yes, it's all about fairness. He wants to level the playing field.

If any of you reading are still thinking of voting for Obama, you really need to wise up and get a clue.
The communist idiot, François Hollande

Honey Boo Boo Endorses Obama

Ladies and gentlemen, if you're still sitting on the fence about whom to vote for in November, take heart! The highly intelligent Honey Boo Boo (and I would also assume her family), have endorsed Barack Hussein Obama for president.

My friends, how can you still be undecided? These people are obviously the cream of the crop among Democrats! It's time to hop on the Hope and Change Train now! Go HERE to check it out.

Michael Vick Gets a Dog

Yes, you heard it, boys and girls. Michael Vick has a dog. This is akin to putting out a fire with gasoline, or raising the debt ceiling for Obama. My only hope is that the dog bites off his throwing hand. Perhaps Philadelphia will finish last in their division.......not likely with Dallas and Washington in there.

Benghazi Terrorism Would not be an Issue if not for Romney

That's right, If it were not for Mitt Romney, this whole thing in Benghazi would not have become a political issue. You remember the Benghazi massacre don't you? It was all caused by a video uh caused by a preplanned Al Qaeda attack on the 11th anniversary of 9-11. Obama denied it. Our ambassador to the UN denied it. All the while the head guy in Libya confirmed it was a terrorist attack. Yes a terrorist attack on sovereign US soil on Obama's watch.

That vile Mitt Romney! That vile Paul Ryan! They should not be talking about such things in front of the American people! Shame on them for telling the truth!

Can you believe it?

No Sign of the Times

Sweet Wifey and I frequently take nice long motorcycle rides through the country and many of the surrounding small towns. We have both noticed the relative lack of Presidential yard signs. There are plenty of signs displaying preferences for local races such as sheriff, mayor, or tax assessor but very few for president.

The few that we have seen are Romney/Ryan signs. I don't remember seeing any Obama signs, although I have seen a couple of Obama bumper stickers. Hopefully this is a sign that people in Tennessee display overall good sense. I guess it could be that Tennessee is not considered a swing state and there just aren't that many signs to be had. No, the Volunteer State will go red once again and that is fine by me.

Just think of all the trees that have died to make these goofy campaign signs.

What is Wrong with Single Women?

First of all, look at age in the 65+ range. Romney has a big lead. In spite of the scare Democrat tactics of doing away with Social Security and Mediscare, seniors for the most part are smart enough to realize that no plan is a bad plan.

Look at Household Income. Romney has a lead in every category except with those making under 30K per year and even then, Obama's lead is not that great. Hmmmm, I thought the Democrats were telling us that Romney's plans would destroy the middle class. I guess someone is not buying it. Strangely under "Household Description Upper/Upper middle" Obama enjoys a lead. I'm not sure what "Household description" is.

The most interesting category is one of "WOMEN". Single woman break for Obama 58 to 37 percent, while married women go with Romney 47 to 43 percent. What is it about single women? Do they have a dependent mentality? Are they single for the same reasons they are liberal? Has attachment to a husband tempered the liberal view of many of them? I just don't know. I'd like to hear some reasons for this.

Lastly, look at RELIGION. All Christian believers break for Romney with protestants giving him a 60 percent majority. I would have thought Catholics might have been number 1, but then again it has been my experience that overall, Catholics are more liberal than Protestants. I guess if you have to choose between liberalism and Christian beliefs, you're gonna go with liberalism. For the same reason, I guess, Jews choose Obama 47 to 25 percent. This to me is bizarre since Obama has turned his back on Israel and has sided with those bent on the destruction of the same. Those with no religion choose Obama 67 to 27 percent. No surprise there.

Polls are polls. They may be completely different next week. I am looking forward to the next presidential debate on foreign policy. With the recent terrorist disaster in Benghazi, Romney has a chance to stick the knife in deep and twist it, if he just will. Obama's and the State Department's refusal to secure our embassy is indefensible. The coverup is criminal.

This Week’s Watcher’s Council Nominations – Paul Ryan Edition

Welcome to the Watcher’s Council, a blogging group consisting of some of the most incisive blogs in the ‘sphere, and the longest running group of its kind in existence. Every week, the members nominate two posts each, one written by themselves and one written by someone from outside the group for consideration by the whole Council. Then we vote on the best two posts, with the results appearing on Friday.
Less than 30 days to go before an election that will change the country for good or ill. Less than 30 days to see whether America chooses to reclaim it’s greatness or wallow in misery and dependency. Less than 30 days.
This Thursday, we’re going to see a perfect example of the choice at hand when Republican VP nominee Paul Ryan steps into the arena against incumbent VP Joe Biden.
On the one hand, a young heir to Reagan’s Revolution, on the other, a symbol of everything wrong with Washington and our politics – a lifelong politician, an entrenched wart on the body politic who’s been wrong on almost every major public question, a fixer and an enabler of the worst sort of crony politics.
The pressure on Ryan will be intense. It’s his first time debating on the national stage, and after last week’s debacle by the president against Mitt Romney, the compliant Obama Media will be looking for any excuse, even a single slip to zero in on and declare Biden the winner.
On the other hand, Joe Biden can mouth the most ridiculous and ignorant statements and wallow in gaffes and if they’re even mentioned by most of the media, it will be with an indulgent chuckle and an ‘oh, that’s just Joe.’
The moderator, ABC’s Martha Raddatz, is a left leaning Democrat who will be under intense pressure from her peers to assist Biden and ‘fact check and challenge Ryan’ in order to avoid the beat down Jim Lehrer received after the first presidential debate for behaving like a moderator instead of an ally to the president.
Yet with all that, my money’s on the rookie.Because not only does he have the smarts and the talent, he has facts and the tide of history on his side, as he shows here:

Fewer people will likely watch this debate than the one last week in Denver between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, but this one is worth paying attention to because of what it symbolizes for America’s future…a choice between a chance at redemption and a move towards our Founder’s principles versus a further wallowing along a corrupt and discredited path.
We’ll know in about a month which future we’ve chosen.
This week’s contest is dedicated to Paul Ryan..and to America’s future.

The GROUCH Hereby Endorses Mitt Romney

If you read this blog, you know that I have been no fan of Mitt Romney. It was nothing personal with Romney I guess. I still don't believe he's a conservative. I won't cover that ground again. After the election of 2008, I was really turned off with RINO's (Republicans in name only) and I was ashamed of the way in which McCain refused to fight. He was more worried about "civility" and I suppose feared being called a racist. I don't care about being civil when it comes to politics and I could care less if someone calls me a racist. Indeed being called a racist is a badge of honor. It means you've won the argument. Liberals are stupid and destructive. We don't need to compromise with them. We need to beat them.

I have discovered that Romney is not like John McCain. He is much more capable and intelligent than McCain could ever hope to be. Romney's debate performance last night was impressive. He had all of his facts together, his ducks in a row, and his guns loaded, and he demolished Obama brutally and ruthlessly, and kept smiling the whole time. McCain would never have done such a thing.

Romney said a lot of good stuff. Coal stocks went up based on just a few positive words from this guy. Romney understands what it takes to start and nurture private sector business, and that is exactly what we need, lots of good paying, private sector jobs. The alternative is a radical socialist that has never held a real job in his life. What we saw last night was a debate between a man who is obviously qualified and capable of being president versus a bozo that couldn't find his butt with both hands.

Do I trust Romney? Well, not much, but I can't say that I trust any politician very much. If he is elected, I will be his staunchest critic. Good grief, Obama is so bad and getting worse. He's got to go or we're doomed. I never thought I say this, but I'm going to send Mitt some money and pull the switch for him in November. He has convinced me that he deserves my vote. I might even smile a little while I'm doing it. I want to see that illegitimate, unqualified, empty suit of a scumbag communist bastard on his way to the dustbin of history.

Certainty and Stability is the Key

I was just reading that coal stocks jumped today, fueled by Mitt Romney's words about supporting the coal industry in last night's debate. If the president says that your life's work is evil and should be done away with, of course jobs are going to be lost and the industry is going to flounder.

"By the way, I like coal. I'm going to make sure we can continue to burn clean coal," said the former head of the private equity firm, Bain Capital.
"People in the coal industry feel like it's getting crushed by your policies," he told Obama.

Amazing how just a few words of encouragement can have such a positive effect. Imagine the positive effect if it was certain that Obamacare would be repealed or that small businesses and those all important job creators could enjoy PERMANENT tax relief.

There are a few glimmers of hope out there. If Obama is re-elected, there will be no hope.

Frog and Female Golfer

A Woman was out playing golf one day when she hit the ball into the woods.

She went into the woods to look for it and found a frog in a trap.

The frog said to her, "If you release me from this trap, I will grant you three wishes."

The woman freed the frog, and the frog said, "Thank you, but I failed to mention that there was a condition to your wishes.

Whatever you wish for, your husband will get times ten!"

The woman said, "That's okay."

For her first wish, she wanted to be the most beautiful woman in the world.

The frog warned her, "You do realize that this wish will also make your husband the most handsome man in the world, an Adonis whom women will flock to".

The woman replied, "That's okay, because I will be the most beautiful woman and he will have eyes only for me."

So, KAZAM-she's the most beautiful woman in the world!

For her second wish, she wanted to be the richest woman in the world.

The frog said, "That will make your husband the richest man in the world. And he will be ten times richer than you."

The woman said, "That's okay, because what's mine is his and what's his is mine."

So, KAZAM-she's the richest woman in the world!

The frog then inquired about her third wish, and she answered, "I'd like a mild heart attack."

Moral of the story: Women are clever. Don't mess with them.

The man had a heart attack ten times "milder" than his wife ..

Moral of the story: Women are not really smart, they just think they are.

Let them continue to think that way and just enjoy the show.

PS: If you are a woman and are still reading this; it only goes to show that women never listen!!!
